The story of this rare and legendary tea dates back to over one thousand years ago, to the time of the Tang Dynasty. It was herein that amidst the enigmatic Buddha Light and the golden sea clouds of the sacred Yellow Huangshan Mountain that tea masters found the secret to producing a mystical yellow beverage. The unique colour of the tea combined with the sweet and mellow taste became at once associated with Imperial courts. Today, the colour yellow remains the symbol of the five legendary emperors of China, whilst in Buddhism, it is said to be a direct symbol of earth and a reflection of the greatest virtues  of rootedness and renunciation. It is this art of tea making perfected over the centuries and which once reached extinction that Nuwa brings to you in the form of Yellow Buddha
